Two American hikers imprisoned in Iran on spying charges three years ago are set to marry in a private ceremony.
A family friend said Shane Bauer and Sarah Shourd would be married Saturday at an undisclosed location in California.
Iranian authorities detained Bauer, Shroud and a third American, Josh Fattal, on spying charges in 2009. Tehran said they had illegally crossed into the country from Iraq.
Iran freed Shourd 14 months later on $500,000 bail. Bauer and Fattal were released after more than two years.
Bauer proposed to Shourd while both were in prison, making a ring out of threads from his shirt.
All three Americans maintained their innocence and said they were hiking in the mountains of northern Iraq while on vacation. The three said that if they crossed the unmarked border into Iran, it was by mistake.
