WATG-Designed Sheraton Bailuhu Resort, Huizhou Opens

HONOLULU –  WATG is pleased to announce the opening of Sheraton Bailuhu Resort, Huizhou. Located South-East of Guongdong Province along the South China Sea on the eastern side of the Pearl River Delta, Huizhou is historically known for its golden beaches, crystal waters, mountains, and forests and as an emerging destination.

“The design of the eight-story resort was intended to blend with the layering hills,” said Sean Sih-Young Jeon, vice president, “and all 449 rooms have lake or mountain views.” The WATG design team sought to create a romantic interplay between the architecture and the lake front similar to that found in Italy’s Lake Como and Portofino. The hotel offers more than 22,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor meeting space including a ballroom and 12 multi-functional conference rooms and a spa and fitness center with an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and spa pools.

Colorful promenades with flowering trees, elegant restaurants and outdoor cafés which hug the shoreline, window boxes of bougainvillea and the subtle fragrance of orchids decorating flagstone streets, arcaded buildings with flowing draperies and palm trees shading shoppers gives the resort a comfortable and festive atmosphere.
